Today's food

At the moment I am doing an internship at a local hospital. For breakfast I had semolina pudding with mixed berries and a banana. At lunch time i had the leftovers from last evening. It included a slice of beef, potato gratin, krouts and carottes. I was really enjoyable which may also be due to the fact that I love beef.

Swabian "Maultaschen"

Well, no recipe today because I bought this Maultaschen. They are some kind of swabian ravioli stuffed with meat and veggies. Buerger is the producer. I cooked them, sliced and fried them with some butter. One of my favourite dishes !(Well, actually I like many kinds of food :))

oats

Today's breakfast was hot oats with seeds and walnuts. If you are highly interested in oatmeal view this site. click here

I made it out of whole milk and rolled oats. I cooked both together. After it reduced to a creamy texture I added some sugar and nuts. Yummy:)

Pasta the first

I was on vacation over the weekend. In order to that I didn't manage to post some of photos of the delicious pasta meal I made for wednesday. It was hungarian gulasch with homemade pasta. My first pasta ever which turned out well. But the meat was way better.

For the gulasch(four people):
- 600g beef
- 350g onions
- oil
- pepperspice
- 1/4 - 1/8 l of red wine
- 300g canned tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves

Cut the beef into small cubes and slice the onions. Roast the meat with some oil for about 5 minutes under high heat. Start to roast the onions with some butter gently in another pan. When the beef gets brown mix with the onions. Deglaze it with most of the red wine. Add shreddderd garlic, the pepperspice and the canned tomatoes. Let it stew under a lit for about one hour. Season with salt, pepper and the rest of the red wine.

Tagliatelle:
- 300g flour
- 3 eggs
- a little salt

Put the flour on the kitchen table. Make a corrie into it and fill in the eggs + salt.
First you mix it together with a fork and continue with your hands. When the dough turns out to be elastic let it rest for a quarter of an hour. Roll out the dough as thin as possible. Now roll the dough together ( in the form of a coil). Cut off stripes with a width of about 1 cm.
Cook in boiling water until the tagliatelle rise to the top.

Muffins:)

In the past time I felt urged to bake some muffins again. The recipe I chose was with almond and I decided to add some cherries which turned out well. The fresh muffins were really yummie but not too sweet and quite filling .

240 g flour
2 TL stoving powder
1/2 TL salt
100g almonds, grounded
2 eggs
100g sugar
125ml oel
100ml milk
1 glass of cherries, dripped off

In one bowl you mix together all dry ingredients and in another all liquid ones.
Now you scramble everything together and place the dough in 12 muffin forms.
Let it bake in the oven at ca. 200° for about 20 minutes.

Breakfast

I don't think I will wright about breakfast frequently. I have a daily routine which is mainly based on oats/muesli, fruits and milk. Today I had chocolate oats from Koelln, banana and milk which I really enjoyed .

First Post ever : apricot tarte

This recipe is one of my all-time favourites. It is really delicious if you serve it warm and with some whipped cream. Enjoy :)

You'll need:

- 175 gram of sweet short crust dough
- 50 gram butter
- 50 gram sugar
- 1 kg apricots

Put the dough in the fridge for about half an hour. Butter a flat baking pan and spread some of the sugar over it. Slice the apricots and place them in the pan. The special thing is that you put the rolled out dough on top. Bake the tarte for about 40 minutes at 200°. Let it cool down and then overturn.
